PRESS RELEASE on the ExpoConference on Albanian Natural Resources, 3rd edition

FIAA, (Foreign Investors Association of Albania) would like to inform you on the success of the 3rd Edition of the Albanian Natural Resources ExpoConference, which was held on April 19th, 2012, in the Palace of Congresses, Tirana, Albania.

Part of the panel of the Opening Session of this important event were the Prime Minister of Albania, Mr. Sali Berisha, the Ambassador of Australia, Mrs. Jenny Bloomfield, The Deputy Minister of METE, Mr. Neritan Alibali and the FIAA Board of Directors presided from its President Mr. Patrick Pascal.

FIAA ASSEMBLY MEETING AND APPROVAL OF THE FIAA BYLAWS CHANGES- 2012

On 28 of February, 2012 at Sheraton Tirana was held the FIAA Assembly Meeting. The meeting was called for the fulfillment of the two vacancies raised in the Board of Directors and the approval of some proposed changes in the Association’s Bylaws.

At the opening of the meeting FIAA’s Executive Director Ms. Jazoj presented FIAA’s achievements and activities for year 2011 and future projects and targets ahead.  Proceeding, members discussed on some articles of the bylaws.

The 4 (four) running candidates as following, Mr. Angelos Kalogerakos (Antea Cement), Mr.  Leonidha Cobo (Bankers Petroleum Albania), Mr. Sokol Elmazaj (Boga & Associates) and Mr. Stefano Borghesi (La Petrolifera Italo –Albanese) shortly introduced their strengths and the motivations for being part of the FIAA’s Board of Directors.

   

FIAA WISHES CEREMONY FOR A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS YEAR 2012

On 19 January 2012 at Sheraton Tirana was organized the traditional FIAA’s Wishes Ceremony, which was a success and a good opportunity to meet each other and start the new year in a friendly manner.

The FIAA’s President Mr. Patrick Pascal on behalf of the Board of Directors welcomed the Premier of Albania, Mr. Sali Berisha, and the European Union Ambassador in Albania Mr. Ettore Sequi, Ambassadors and Diplomats in Albania, Ministers, Collaborators and Members.

During his word, the Vice President of FIAA Mr. Alexander Zsolnai expressed that FIAA during its 12 years of existence has always been a supporter and facilitator of foreign investments in the country by keeping good relations with the Government of Albania, as well as all other relevant institutions. Facts stand for FIAA growing bigger and bigger and counting more than 104 of active members, the biggest foreign business community in Albania.

2012 presents another challenging and special year, but we could be cautiously optimistic, by moving more closely together with Albanian authorities and our members to increase the level of dialogue – Mr. Zsolnai said.    

FIAA Networking & SOCIETE GENERALE ALBANIA Presentation

24 November 2011, Sheraton Tirana, FIAA’s members, guests and colleagues celebrated during the Networking event hosted by Societe Generale Albania. In presence of the majority of its members and collaborators the FIAA’s President Mr. Patrick Pascal greeted the FIAA’s work and cooperation during the last months and expressed his will for further supporting the members’ concerns.

The event was followed by the CEO of Societe Generale Albania Bank, Mr. Hubert De Saint Jean in the same time a Board Member of FIAA. Mr. De Saint Jean made a short presentation of the bank activities, its corporate products and services as well as its key staff representatives.

Country Profile

Albania is a small country situated in South Eastern Europe in the West of Balkan Peninsula. It encompasses an area of 28,748 square kilometers, between 390 38' and 420 39' of North Latitude and 190 16' to 210 40' latitude, with a maximum length from north to south of about 340 kilometers and a maximum width of about 154 km.
