Tirana, May 27th, 2008 - The Foreign Investors Association of Albania in cooperation with ELIDA Co’94 have officially inaugurated the National Conference on Natural Resources of Albania called: “Albania, a Destination for Investments”, the first of the kind in the country.
The Plenary session was opened by the President of FIAA, Mr. Thomas Papaspyrou followed by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Energy, Mr. Genc Ruli, the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Protection, Mr. Jemin Gjana, the Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports, Mr. Ylli Pango, the Vice Minister of Public Works, Transport and Telecommunications, Mr. Stavri Ristani and the Chairman of  the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Gjoke Uldedaj, who were the main supporters for this activity.

The Conference was focused on priority sectors of Albania such as minerals, energy, hydrocarbons, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure and was organized along with an Exhibition, where participated more than 60 foreign companies and state agencies.

The activity had as main objective to attracting new investors interested on the Albanian natural resources and supports the political visions of the government to expand transparency and it was a close collaboration with institutions like: Agency of Albanian Natural Resources, Albinvest, Albanian Geological Survey, Association of Geologists, Albanian Agro business Council, National Agency of Tourism, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tirana, Institute of Transports etc. 

The activity was sponsored by prestigious companies like Deutsche Bank, Raiffeisen Bank, Bankers Petroleum in Albania, Stream Oil and Gas Group, Tirex Explorations l.t.d, Selenice Bitumi, Interalbanian/Aspis Group etc.
